Eckhart Tolle and The Power of Now
After his experience of the true nature of existence, Eckhart Tolle left his job in Cambridge and became penniless and slept on park benches around Tavistock Square in London in a state of absolute bliss for several years. I used to live in Bloomsbury at the same time. I too used to sit on benches and under trees practising my chi gung breathing and keeping an eye open for a pretty girl to chat up! But I never saw Eckhart! People that did see him asked him to give them what he had! Eckhart responded "you already have it, but your mind is making too much noise, so you don't see it". Eckhart no longer sleeps on benches, but teaches others how to have the same state of pure bliss. Eckhart says that his task is to be a nobody, that is to be without an ego, nothing that you can label.
